Naica

Copper and Corten steel, 250 x 250 x 270 cm, 2024
Sculpture réalised with atelier BLAM and the studio of création 47NORD

Artistic commission from the Emerige and COFFIM group as part of the charter
“1 building, 1 work”.

Located in the interior courtyard of a building in Chatenay-Malabry, Naica represents a grouping of crystals. It is an evolving sculpture, whose copper and Corten steel surfaces modify over time and the elements. The oxidation process alters the colors of these raw materials: Corten steel, initially anthracite, becomes bright rust, and the orange of copper replaces verdigris. Thus, the inhabitants of the building witness the mutation of the colors and textures of the work.
